Funds donated at www.southerndemocrats.org will benefit the Southern Democratic Political Action Committee (SouthPAC), a federal Political Action Committee registered with the Federal Election Commission. All donations to SouthPAC are hard money contributions from individuals just like you. The maximum donation per individual is $5,000 per year.

All donations received by SouthPAC are distributed to deserving Southern Democratic Congressional Candidates for Congress. Credit card donations are subject to a standard ten percent processing fee charged by the PoliticsOline card processor, a neutral, secure system that is not affiliated with SouthPAC. Contributions are not tax-deductible. Neither www.southerndemocrats.org nor SouthPAC is officially affiliated with any particular political candidate or political party.

Contributions to this nonconnected committee will be used to influence federal elections and are subject to the limits and prohibitions of federal law, which requires political committees to use their best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.  Federal law prohibits contributions to a political committee from: (i) the general treasury funds of corporations, labor organizations or national banks (including corporate credit cards); (ii) any person contributing another person's funds; (iii) foreign nationals who lack permanent resident status; and (iv) government contractors.

A political committee may accept contributions from minor children (i.e., persons under 18 years of age) if the minor makes the decision to contribute knowingly and voluntarily, and the child contributes his or her own funds, and the contribution is not controlled by another individual or made from the proceeds of a gift given to provide funds to be contributed.
